Bolstering Civic Engagement

Redefining the power of youth through civic education.

Through providing unbiased news and raising awareness of the world today’s pressing issues, Crash the Divide plans to increase voter registration in students, spark educational debates within communities, and encourage civic engagement for all.

Crash the Divide hopes to not only eradicate negative stigmas and the division between each political party, but also the divide so that minorities feel supported to voice their opinions in the government. Such a community provides students with a judgment-free environment that does not reject new or different ideas, but rather encourages them to come up with creative solutions and stand up for what they believe in. In today's digital world, many teens rely on social media for news, but unfortunately large amounts of this content is biased.

By providing non-partisan stories and information, Crash the Divide seeks to spark debate and political conversation between young high-school students to empower them to form their own beliefs aside from social pressure and misinformation.

Specifically, discussion regarding politics is often seen as taboo in many Asian-American households, so by providing this information along with ways students can get involved in their communities, we can increase youth social awareness and voter registration.

President Ronald Reagan once said “The future doesn't belong to the fainthearted; it belongs to the brave'' and we believe that solutions do not have to come from the government, and by taking a stand, young students can bring change in this world.
